It strikes me as a trait unique to OSRS that people play the MMO like it’s a single-player game. This week, Jagex introduced Slayer partners back into the game; a feature that allows two people to slay… as partners. That is, they both kill monsters on the same task.
While I would never complain about such a feature being added to the game, and I think it should be in the game so long as the community voted for it, I can’t help but wonder if it’s ever going to be used.
Taking on tasks is a matter of efficiency and, generally speaking, most OSRS players block the tasks they don’t want, and the tasks that they want the most are tasks they’d like all to themselves. I mean, imagine only getting half a dust devil’s task?
To reiterate, I’m not complaining about the inclusion of slayer partners in OSRS at all. I’m just trying to see the forest for the trees in regard to how it might change the vast majority of everyone’s experience playing the MMO. In my uneducated opinion, not at all.
