Project T is a new development piece BVHR Interactive is taking on. The third-person shooter, for which there are scarce few details and only a temporary code name, is said to have a direct connection to the lore of Dead by Daylight through the entity.
According to BHVR, the shooter will feature coop gameplay against monstrous entities in procedurally created environments. Although a far cry from the third-person parkour-ish gameplay most people have come to love from Dead by Daylight, Project T isn’t actually BHVR’s first shooter. Deathgarden, which featured some extremely tight controls and surprisingly solid gameplay loops, was shut down by BHVR in late 2019.
The now unplayable game was a strange study for game development enthusiasts, who saw Deathgarden perform extremely well with its audience but fail to carve out a niche big enough to warrant BHVR’s continued support.
The hopeful among BHVR’s supporters will want Project T to build off the lessons learned from Deathgarden in providing strong PvE gameplay. The pessimists will point to the fact that BHVR has a hard enough time as it is keeping its core audience happy with its prize title and that adding another project to that will only stretch its resources further apart, potentially resulting in the downfall of two games.
The reality, most likely, will be something far more neutral and in-between. But surprises remain to be seen. Project T is in an extremely early development phase and has no planned release date.
