In a twitter post by Nintendo, President Furukawa states:
“This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year.”
The rumor mill has been hard at work producing predictions and data, fabricated or otherwise, about the upcoming “Switch 2”, as the successor to the switch has temporarily been dubbed.
In an apparent effort to prevent mass disappointment of die-hard fans hoping for a Switch 2 Announcement during the upcoming Nintendo Direct in June, President Furukawa also mentioned that there would be no mention of the Switch successor during the Direct.
It is rumored that the official announcement for the Switch 2 will come sometime in Early 2025, which is in keeping with Furukawa’s statement about the announcement coming sometime within the fiscal year.
