Blue Dragons are an excellent task for low to mid-level accounts in Oldschool Runescape. Their drops feature a number of alchables, nature runes, crafting supplies, prayer XP, and they can be safespotted. Here’s the quick rundown on how to complete a Blue Dragon task:
For Ironmen:
Go to the Taverly Dungeon. Those with 70 agility can squeeze through the obstacle pipe to get to the blue dragons quickly, those with lower than 70 agility will need to use a dusty key to enter the gate on the other side of the entrance’s ladder. You can also opt to go up to the slayer-only portion of the dungeon to kill blue dragons on-task with 70 agility.
After arriving, you have two options: Kill the baby blue dragons for a quick task, or kill their adult variant, the blue dragons, for more useful supplies and XP. The adults can be safespotted with ranged or mage.(Don’t forget your anti-dragon shield!)
Bank all hides, bones, and herbs, alch the rest. Or, if high alchs (level 55 magic) aren’t available to you, decide between banking the alchs for future gold or dropping them for a quicker task.
If you’re a high enough combat level, consider doing Vorkath for your blue dragon task, unlocked after Dragon Slayer II. (Though, if you’re that high of a combat level, what are you doing reading this article?)
For Mains:
Follow the advice given above. Prepare with high alchs and, instead of keeping the hides banked for crafting XP after task, sell them, as the gold can be better spent on training methods for crafting that are more efficient XP/HR.
As for the dragon bones, choose to do with them as you want; they can be sold for a great deal of GP or used for training prayer. Drop any herbs or runes that don’t equal more in GP value than one hide or dragon bone.
