Manor Lords Reaches Over 1 Million Copies Sold

According to developer Hooded Horse’s twitter, Manor Lords has sold over 1 million copies since its launch into early access on the 26th of April.

Assuming any reasonable rate of continued sales, the game has likely reached close to or over 2 million at this point, and its doubtful the game will dwindle very much as it approaches, ever so slowly, a full release.

It’s strange to think that the most common selling point leading up to Manor Lords’ release was that it was a potential Bannerlord killer. As the game neared its early access release, though, Hooded Horse began releasing copies of the game for content creators to play through as a form of garnering early reviews.

What became clear was that Manor Lords wasn’t putting its bets in being a game to topple any other game or to advance any one genre forward, but rather to be its own unique title.

Sure, one could draw similarities to the likes of Bannerlords and Banished, but Manor Lords, clearly, is a work of its own kind, and will be fine tuning its strengths and eliminating its weaknesses for months (or years) to come.

TLDR; Manor Lords has reached over 1 million sales on steam, and will likely double that amount shortly, if it hasn’t already. The game was hyped as a potential rival of the game Bannerlord, but ultimately has proven itself to be a work of art within its very own category, despite sharing similarities with other games.
